Update on the Sunnyside Double Mid-Station

If you’d like to ask questions of the board and mountain management, please feel free to attend the Saturday February 17th board meeting on the 3rd floor of the Base Box at 5p ET (or join virtually). The link to the virtual meeting can be found in the calendar section below.

As we approach the April Shareholder meeting the Co-op Board wants to remind our Shareholders of the upcoming vote for the expenditure required for the Sunnyside Double Mid-Station.

Project Summary

  1. Add an unload-only mid-station on the Sunnyside Double at the top of Kay’s Grove
  2. Complete required maintenance (replacement of the haul rope)

Additional Project Benefits

  1. Access man-made snow on the main mountain when we don’t have natural snow to open from the top
  2. Easier access to Birdland lift and beginner terrain
  3. Enable future possibilities for the Birdland area

The mid-station will be for off-loading only

Pending shareholder vote, project to commence and be completed in the summer of 2024

January Meeting Minutes

The Basebox was well decorated for the 75th Gala and we are excited to note that Rick Moulton’s “A 75 Year Fellowship of Skiers” will be screened at MRG on March 2nd (in addition to other Vermont screenings taking place in February).

Snow making is done for the year. All lifts are running great; we have had no issues with the new Sunnyside Double drive.

The final Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Stark Mountain Foundation (SMF) was agreed to in early February and provides SMF and MRG with a more formal framework moving forward.
