The fall weather in the Mad River Valley has been nothing short of breathtaking, with vibrant colors painting the landscape and the forecast promising more stunning days ahead. As the leaves reach their peak brilliance at higher elevations, their fiery hues are cascading down the mountainsides and spilling across the valley.

If you've been waiting for the perfect weekend to enjoy a foliage lift ride, a meal at the pub, listen to live music, or grab some MRG gear in the General Store, now is the time! But if you can’t make it this weekend, don’t worry—the single chair will be spinning again next weekend, giving you another chance to soak in autumn’s splendor. Lift rides are free for shareholders, $15 for kids and seniors, and $20 for adults. We hope to see you on the mountain!

Collaborative Fundraising Committee (CFC) Focus: Reconstructing Stark’s Pub

Formed in 2024 by Stark Mountain Foundation and Mad River Glen, the Collaborative Fundraising Committee (CFC) is focused on projects vital to MRG’s future. Reconstructing Stark’s Pub tops the list.

Stark’s Pub is more than a building — it’s where generations of skiers warm up, connect, and celebrate after unforgettable days on the mountain. From birthday toasts to powder-day stories, it’s the heart of the MRG community.

But this isn’t a renovation — it’s a full reconstruction.

Built in 1960, the current structure suffers from failing beams, an aging foundation, outdated systems, and poor insulation. Moisture damage has compromised even newer equipment. Simply put, the pub must be rebuilt.

The CFC aims to raise $2 million to fully reconstruct Stark’s Pub — preserving its spirit while ensuring structural safety, energy efficiency, and improved guest experiences. We’re not replacing the Pub’s character — we’re rebuilding its bones.

The new design retains the Pub’s historic charm while addressing today’s needs. Led by the Facilities Committee and Vermont Integrated Architecture, the plan balances preservation, practicality, and long-term sustainability. Benefits include:

The project will move forward once funds are secured.
